This lively arrangement of the traditional French Carol begins and ends in the character of a music box. Ostinati, alternately in the high treble and bass bells, embellish the traditional melody in the middle sections. The final verse develops the melody as a canon. The piece is not difficult as there are few bell changes and few ringing techniques employed; however, it will present a challenge to the average handbell ensemble to push the tempo and maintain a clean rhythmic precision on the arpeggiated ostinati.
